Carles Sora

Doctor of Social Communication from the Pompeu Fabra University, he is a specialist in digital media and interactive design.

Researcher and lecturer at the Department of Communication of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. He holds a PhD in Audiovisual Communication from the UPF for his thesis on digital time, and is a Postdoctoral Fellow of the MIT Open Documentary Lab, Cambridge, USA, where he completed a post-doctoral stay funded by the Fulbright programme. He is also a director and founder of the UPF Starting Lab digital culture projects incubator. She conducts research on the social impact of the immersive audiovisual, interactive narratives and virtual reality, and on the digital transformation of culture.

She was communication coordinator for the festival Artfutura, founder of the exhibition design studio Touché, and of the first postgraduate degree in Digital Theatre at the UPF. She has directed artistic, museum and dramaturgical projects which she has exhibited at conferences, festivals and international centres such as CaixaForum, Arts Santa Mónica, Auditori de Barcelona, CCCB, ExTeresa (Mexico City), the VAD Festival in Girona and the Méduse Centre (Quebec/Canada), where she completed a creation residency placement.
