Ben Welsh

Ben Welsh (@palewire) is a data journalist at US daily the Los Angeles Times, although he defines himself as a mercenary programmer: he writes code to compile, organize, analyse, and present large quantities of information.
Previously he worked on research projects at the Center for Public Integrity and at the National Institute for Computer-Assisted Reporting (NICAR). He has also participated in documentaries for CNN and has contributed to different media. Welsh is, furthermore, the creator of PastPages, an archive devoted to preserving information from the digital media.
