Begoña Gómez Urzaiz

Journalist specialising in culture

Trained as a journalist, she writes an opinion column for the daily La Vanguardia and also a section on culture news in the newspaper’s supplement “Cultura/s”. She regularly writes about issues of culture, gender, and social trends in El País and the magazines IconS ModaVogue and Vanity Fair. Moreover, she teaches in the master’s degree in Literary Journalism at the Autonomous University of Barcelona where she gives classes on genres of opinion, and she also appears from time to time in the podcast grid of Ràdio Primavera Sound with such programmes as Tardeo.

She has published Las abandonadoras (Destino, 2022), a personal essay about motherhood, creation and guilt, and coordinated and prologued Neorrancios. Contra los peligros de la nostalgia (Península, 2022), a collective book about regressive cultural trends.
