Antoni Bassas

Antoni Bassas (Barcelona, 1961) is a journalist and radio and television scriptwriter. He is presently a member of the management team of the newspaper Ara. From 1995 to 2008 he was director of the radio programme El matí de Catalunya Ràdio, which topped the audience ratings for fourteen consecutive seasons, and he was the TV3 (Catalan Television) correspondent in Washington for four years. He has received many prizes during his career, among them the National Prize for Journalism of the Generalitat (Government) of Catalonia in 2001, the Radio Association Best Professional Prize for his work as a whole, the National Radio Broadcasting Prize in 2005, and the Protagonists Prize in 2008.
