Anna Tsing

Anthropologist, professor of Anthropology at the University of California, Santa Cruz

Professor of Anthropology at the University of California, Santa Cruz, she was also granted the Niels Bohr Professorship in the Department of Culture and Society at Aarhus University, Denmark. She is author of the books In the Realm of the Diamond Queen (1993), Friction (2005), and The Mushroom at the End of the World (2015), the latter work being about collaborative survival in multispecies settings and highly critical of capitalism based on limitless growth and the damage it causes. In 2018, she was awarded the Huxley Memorial Medal of the Royal Anthropological Institute for her career as a whole.
