Anna Clot-Garrell
A sociologist and Juan de la Cierva researcher at the University of Barcelona, she specialises in classical and contemporary sociology, especially in the religious, cultural, and environmental domains. She also works with the Open University of Catalonia and has published in academic journals, among them Current Sociology, Digithum, and Journal of Religion in Europe. In the project “Voices of Emergency: Imagined Climate Futures and Forms of Collective Action” she has studied, among other issues, the predominant imaginaries concerning the future in activist movements that have arisen in the present situation of climate crisis. In a different area of interest, she has explored contemporary transformations of the religious phenomenon and its institutions, and representation of diversity and religious minorities in public spaces of zones subjected to heavy urban pressures, for example the Raval neighbourhood of Barcelona.
