Àngel Puyol

(Barcelona 1968) is a lecturer in Ethics and Political Philosophy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He is also a Humanities consultant to the Open University of Catalonia. He has published numerous articles on ethics, bioethics and political philosophy in specialist reviews and co-edited the book Bioética, justicia y globalización (Bioethics, Justice and Globalisation – Erein, 2007). He is also author of Justícia i Salut. Ètica per al racionament dels recursos sanitaris (Justice and Health: Ethics in Allocating Health Resources – UAB 1999), El discurso de la igualdad (The Discourse of Equality – Crítica 2001), and El sueño de la igualdad de oportunidades (The Dream of Equality of Opportunities – Gedisa, 2010). A member of the Social Security Ethics Committee at the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, he has been head of the Philosophy Department at the Autonomous University of Barcelona since 2009.
