Ana Ballesteros Peiró

Ana Ballesteros, a researcher at the Observatory on Politics and Elections in the Arab and Muslim World (OPEMAM) and with the Electoral Observatory for Arab and Islamic Countries of the International Mediterranean Studies Workshop (TEIM) at the Autonomous University of Madrid, is a specialist in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Her field of research ranges from Islam in South Asia to sectarianism and religious violence, especially in Pakistan. She has also produced in-depth studies on Pakistani emigration to Spain. She has published numerous articles on these subjects as well as the book Pakistán (Síntesis, 2011).
