Alessandra Sanguinetti was born in New York in 1968, lived in Argentina from 1970 to 2003, and is now resident in New York. Sanguinetti is a recipient of the Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship and the Hasselblad Foundation Grant. She is represented by the Yossi Milo Gallery in New York and by Ruth Benzacar in Buenos Aires, and her photographs are included in public and private collections such as the MOMA (NY), the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Fine Arts de Houston and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. In 2006, she published her first book On the Sixth Day (Nazraeli Press). She has contributed to magazines such as The New York Times Magazine, LIFE, Newsweek and New York Magazine.
