Albena Azmanova

A political analyst and lecturer in international relations at the Brussels School of International Studies at the University of Kent (UK), she took part in Bulgaria’s Velvet Revolution in the 1980s. With a PhD from the New School for Social Research in New York, she taught in the New School, the Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris and at the Vessalius College of Brussels before joining the academic staff at the University of Kent. As a political analyst, she has worked for the United Nations, for the OECD, the Council of Europe and the European Commission and Parliament. Notable among her recent publications is the co-authored work (with Marc Pallemaerts) The EU and Sustainable Development: Internal and External Dimensions (VUB University Press, 2006).
