Adriana Vila Guevara
Filmmaker and anthropologist
(Caracas, 1981). Filmmaker and anthropologist engaged in making documentaries, the study of reflexive ethnography and experimental film in different formats. She has a doctorate in Anthropology from the University of Barcelona, with a thesis on authorship, biographical development, imaginery and representation in the making of a film image. She is a teacher of documentary and experimental film at the film and audiovisual school Escuela Superior de Cine y Audiovisuales de Cataluña (ESCAC) and co-founder of the laboratory for analogue and independent film, Crater-Lab (crater-lab.org), where she combines her work as curator, teacher and creator of experimental cinema. She has projected her work in several film and art festivals all over the world, including FID Marseille, the Margaret Mead Film Festival, Microscope Gallery, the Bahía Modern Art Museum, Caracas Fine Art Museum, the Oberhausen IFF, the Edinburgh International Film Festival and the IFFR Rotterdam Film Festival.
