Strategies for present and future for local governments

The course dicusses the current situation of local governments in Catalonia and Spain, in the current context of economic crisis and institutional renewal processes. In Europe there are several reforms in the institutional structures of local governments; in Spain they propose measures to tackle the deficit and unlock the payment to suppliers of municipalities; in Catalonia there’s an opportunity to have a new government law and the new law on local administration and local funding.
