Poetry Slam Barcelona

Creation centered on the word & the stage

Scene + Music

Free

The Poetry Slam is half poem, half performance, a contemporary format that takes a fresh new look at poetry. The project places the word and the stage at the centre of a new cultural proposal, using the slam and the spoken word as essential elements. The regular slam championship in Barcelona has been held since February 2010.

After the season’s curtain raiser in April, the Poetry Slam Barcelona 2013-2014 continues. The latest session coincides with Museum Night and is preparing a very special competition for this night-time slot, with the participation of US poet Marc Kelly Smith, founder of the Poetry Slam movement (read an interview in the CCCB blog). French guest slammers Saïban and Mirko will also be getting up on stage.
