Món Llibre 2024
Children’s and youngsters' literary festival
Festivals + Family
Free
Once again it’s time for Món Llibre, a literary experience for young and old that this year transforms itself into a portal to travel around the world, time and emotions through books.
This year the festival aims to be a portal to a new way of living and understanding reading: a tool to discover and understand the world around us, the other cultures with which we share the city and life, and to travel through time and space. It offers shows, workshops, presentations, prizes, installations, screenings, reading spaces and bookshop stands to discover books that open the door to adventure. And, as a novelty, it also organises activities for over 12-year-olds.
As well as all these activities that Món Llibre offers for our youngest public, the CCCB proposes two doors-open days and two guided visits to the exhibition "Suburbia" and the art installation "Houses".
Doors open and guided visits to the CCCB’s exhibition "Suburbia"
"Suburbia. Building the American Dream" traces the cultural history of a lifestyle ideal shared far and wide by television, advertising and cinema, and analyses the most controversial aspects of this urban planning model.
Doors open to the exhibition: 11:00-20:00
Guided visits: Saturday (Spanish) and Sunday (Catalan): 11:30
Free admission subject to prior reservation
Pre-book tickets for exhibition
Pre-book tickets for guided tour
"Houses", a participatory installation by Xesca Salvà
In Espai B, in the foyer of the exhibition, visitors sit round a table together to listen to stories and collectively build a house.
11:00-20:00
Free access
Apart from the CCCB, Món Llibre is also present at the MACBA, Jaume Fuster Library and Trinitat Vella-José Barbero Library.
