Debate

In this session we present a conversation where journalist Elena Kostyuchenko meets experts Carmen Claudín, Manel Alías, and Marta Ter to discuss the domestic and foreign policy of Vladimir Putin’s Russia and its implications for the present global situation.

Elena Kostyuchenko is a renowned Russian journalist and activist, defender of human rights and LGTBIQ+ rights, as well as being an outspoken opponent of corruption, authoritarianism, and armed conflicts. The session, organised and moderated by expert on Russia and post-Soviet spaces Carmen Claudín, also features journalist and former Moscow correspondent Manel Alías, and Marta Ter, a researcher with expertise in Russia and, in particular, Putin’s thought and propaganda.

This session coincides with the visit of Elena Kostyuchenko on the occasion of the session of Thursday 20 March, Russia: Silenced Voices and the launch of her book El meu país estimat. Cròniques d'un país perdut (La Segona Perifèria, 2025 – in English, I Love Russia: Reporting from a Lost Country).
