InnMotion 2005
III International Biennial of Performance and Visual Arts applied to Reality
Scene + Music
The InnMotion festival "Discipline and smooth out" is back with renewed vigour, moving away from the simple concept of visual and performing arts festival and calling for really active culture that is accessible to everyone. It presents actions, installations, shows, dinners, film and other ways of seeing things.
In the framework of the Grec Festival, for five days InnMotion presents 18 companies, five installations, three interventions in public space in the city, two workshops, independent film screenings and DJ sessions, plus three in-house productions performed here for the first time.
Every day, spectators can choose what they want to see, making five days of InnMotion five completely different experiences, including two bus tours and a workshop at different times, various shows and the possibility of an al fresco dinner.
PRESENTATION
From 6 to 10 July at the CCCB, InnMotion 2005, "Discipline and Smooth Out" presents performance, installations, visual theatre, interventions in public space, contemporary dance, creative workshops, cabaret, poetry, actions, DJ sessions and screenings of independent film and video. All this in the desire to bring down the frontiers between different artistic disciplines, in a search for new lines of communication by means of the fusion of art, thought, science and technology, and the generation of new ways of understanding the artistic phenomenon in relation to the transformation of the imaginary and society.
Under the umbrella title of "Discipline and Smooth Out", the festival returns to the Barcelona scene after two years of absence with renewed vigour, moving away from the simple concept of visual and performing arts festival and calling for truly active culture that is accessible to everyone. With festival number three, InnMotion becomes a biennial festival with the aim of consolidating its growth and ensuring a quality programme. In the framework of the Grec Festival, for five days InnMotion presents 18 companies, five installations, three interventions in public space in the city, two workshops, independent film screenings and DJ sessions, plus three in-house productions performed here for the first time.

CONSERVAS
Conservas is a project of cultural agitation based on research, production, diffusion and management of innovative proposals in the field of the performing and visual arts. The work carried out under the management of Sala Conservas, the artistic direction of the InnMotion Festival and the in-house creation of shows of the Conservas company have made it a point of reference in Europe on the new performance creation scene. It was set up in 1994 when Simona Levi, the main figure behind Conservas, started to programme some of the boldest and best proposals in the city. 1999 saw the presentation of the first Conservas show, "Femina Ex Machina", winner of the FAD Prize for Criticism and Applause in the same year. In 1999, Conservas's successful audience figures prompted Barcelona's Mercat de les Flors to commission Simona Levi to produce a cycle of shows. In 2001, as part of the Grec Summer Festival, the first InnMotion Festival was held. Conservas's proposal attracted a huge audience, and the critics hailed it as one of the liveliest and most innovative shows in that year's Grec. In 2005, the Conservas venue embarked on a new phase after thorough renovation. Conservas forms part of the IETM network and is a founder member of IRIS, a project that brings together the most prestigious centres for the creation and performance of theatre in the south of Europe.
