As one of the activities coinciding with the exhibition of Santiago Sierra’s censored work “Presos polítics a l’Espanya contemporània” (Political Prisoners in Contemporary Spain), the CCCB is hosting the opening event for the Barcelona Creative Commons Film Festival.

Presentation of the Artists at Risk collective by its founders, Marita Muukkonen and Ivor Stodolsky.
Artists at Risk (AR) is an organisation at the intersection of human rights and the arts working on a worldwide scale. AR maps the locations of persecuted professionals in the visual arts and helps them to find a safe way out of their countries, accommodating them in “AR Safe Haven” residences and curating related projects.

Screening of the documentary Tijera contra papel (Scissors against Paper)
(Gerard Escuer, 115 min., Bonzo Producciones, original in Spanish).
Tijera contra papel tells the story of the history of censorship in Spain and denounces the recent intensification of this practice.

- Anaïs Franquesa, director of litigation in the Iridia Center for the Defense of Human Rights
