Mei is a young Chinese woman who, after a traumatic event, decides to leave behind provincial village life and head to the city. Once settled inChongqing, nothing turns out the way she had hoped. She starts work in a textile factory but soon gets fired and falls in love with a hit man whose past is about to catch up with him. Without thinking twice, she decides to set out on the long trip toLondon, where new and bittersweet adventures await her.

Gabriel, a young Spanish writer living in Berlin, is having a writer’s block. One morning when he’s listening to the radio, he hears about a play on the theme of bullfighting. Influenced by this image, he makes a sudden decision.
