After the End of the World

Donna Haraway: Story Telling for Earthly Survival

Screening of Fabrizio Terranova's documentary

Debate + Audiovisuals

Donna Haraway: Story Telling for Earthly Survival is a key documentary for anyone wishing to learn about the work and person of the thinker Donna Haraway. The film will be shown as part of the concluding session of Barcelona Debate, in which Marta Segarra and Donna Haraway will engage in a discussion by videoconference.

Donna Haraway is a great creator and storyteller. Yet, for her, telling stories is in no way flight from reality but, instead, a way of taking on the commitment to give voice to world views which differ from the hegemonic thinking of the West.

This documentary, a strange, beautiful and original portrait of Donna Haraway, is based on conversations she had over several weeks with the filmmaker Fabrizio Terranova, who was staying in her California home. Throughout this visual presentation, Haraway reveals her talents as a rebel narrator, shaper of a hopeful universe populated by transfuturist species, and teller of stories of resistance against colonisation and capitalism.
