Dies de dansa 2011
XX International Festival of Dance in Urban Landscapes
Scene + Music + Festivals
Free
Dies de dansa is a festival of dance in urban landscapes. Buildings, parks, streets and squares come to life with urban interest in this meeting in the public space between two arts: architecture and dance.
Dies de dansa this year celebrates its 20th event. This will be a unique occasion to return to take the public space and explore the interaction between dance, urban space and community with the complicity of some of the most outstanding companies from past editions (including Ziya Azazi - Turkey/Austria, Àngels Margarit/ Cia Mudances - Catalonia, Lakka - Brazil, Anton Lachky - Slovakia, Cie 7273 - Switzerland, Yiphun Chiem - Belgium / Cambodia and Rootless Root Company - Greece. Programming to be confirmed). The festival’s objectives continue to be those of bringing a large variety of contemporary dance languages to all audiences, looking deeper into choreographic work within the urban space and generating debate and reflection regarding the public space.
A meeting point for artists, professionals and public, every night the CCCB’s Pati de les Dones will host the festival’s Espai en Moviment.
