Writer and journalist.
He has been the literary director of Edicions Proa and the General Director of Cultural Promotion for the Catalan Government (1984-1987). He is the author of several books of poetry and essays, prominently including: La fi del fil (1973), Carles Riba Prize, Fràgil (1981), Els intrusos (1980), Converses sobre Catalunya (1991) and El descrèdit de la literatura (1999). In 1974 he was awarded the Ciudad de Barcelona Prize for poetry.
He has produced versions in Catalan of Cyrano de Bergerac, by Rostand and Misanthrope, by Molière; and for theatre company Dagoll Dagom, Shaw's Pygmalion and the musicals The Mikado, The Pirates of Penzance, La Perichole and the libretto of Mar i cel.
As a journalist and commentator, he is a contributor to La Vanguardia and other media. He was director of contents of the television series Homenots, about Pla and his work (1998-1999); author of the plot of the film Dalí, être Dieu, and curator of the exhibition Barcelona-Madrid 1898-1998, sintonies i distàncies (1997-1998), for the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona.
