Manuel Gausa

Architect, Barcelona.

An architect, vice-president of CADS (Advisory Board for Sustainable Development of the Government of Catalonia), he has been director of a number of master’s courses in Architecture and is also director of the Scuola di Dottorato in Architettura e Design de la UNIGE (Geneva), where he teaches Projects and Composition. He has been a member of scientific boards of such institutions as the Institut d’Arquitectura Avançada de Catalunya (Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia) and ARCHILAB. Since 1994 he has been director of Actar Architecture, where he has carried out several projects that have received international awards. From 1991 to 2000 he was director of the review Quaderns d’Arquitectura i Urbanisme published by COAC and has written for publications like the newspaper La Vanguardia. He has co-authored books, for example Barcelona: guía de arquitectura moderna (Barcelona: A Guide to Modern Architecture – Actar, 2002).
