Josep Maria Muñoz (Barcelona, 1959) is a historian, and has been editor and director of the review L’Avenç since 1999. He has a PhD in Contemporary History from the University of Barcelona with a thesis on the historian Jaume Vicens i Vives which, after receiving the Gaziel Prize for Biography and memoirs, was published with the title Jaume Vicens i Vives (1910-1960).
