Jorge Tió Rodríguez (Madrid, 1960), is a clinical psychologist at the University of Barcelona and a member of the Spanish Psychoanalytical Society and of the International Psychoanalytical Association. He has worked in the Public Health Care Network for Mental Health since 1985 and supervises teams in the fields of social work and mental health care, while also teaching in masters’ courses at the University of Barcelona. He has published several articles on psychotherapy and adolescence. From 1991 to 1995 he was vice-president of the Catalan Association of Mental Health Professionals, which eventually joined the Spanish Association of Neuropsychiatry, and from 2001 to 2003 he was a board member of the Catalan Congress on Mental Health Foundation. Since 2005 he has been coordinator of the team specialising in attending to minors at the Sant Pere Claver Health Foundation, which received an Honourable Mention from the Department of Justice of the Generalitat (Government) of Catalonia in 2009. This team has been working on a programme of mental health care for adolescents who have been reported to the Juvenile Justice system. The project is the result of a joint cooperative initiative of the departments of Health and Justice of the Generalitat.
