Eman Abd El-Hamid

Writer and neuropsychiatrist Eman Abd El-Hamid (Alexandria, 1974) started writing poems in early 90s, attending many events which are related (workshops, readings, festivals). In late 90s she started writing short stories, also attended & participated in short story workshop which was taken place in l’Atelier of Alexandria for 3 years which included many readings & one published book named “First Papers” in 2000 .

Her stories have been published in many literature magazines & journals like “Akhbar Eladab” , “Alahram” , “Alahram Hebdo” and “Mena”. She is part of several iterature groups in Alexandria such as Aseel & El Kol, which produced a book in 2004 named “EL-KOL”  containing poems & stories written by the members of the group. The book contained about 13 stories of her work.

In 2006, her book named Attempts to Hide was released & it won price of Sawiris Foundation 2nd place for year 2007.

She is preparing for her next book, hoping to finish it by the end of the year.
