Andreu Cabot

Andreu Cabot is engaged in research into the preparation, characterisation and assembly of metal and semiconductor nanocrystals in order to increase efficiency and reduce present costs of energy conversion and storage. He has a PhD in Physical Sciences from the University of Barcelona (2003), after which he spent a three-year postdoctoral stay at the University of California-Berkeley where he worked with Professor A. Paul Alivisatos, a well-known scientist in the fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology, and also at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He returned to the Department of Electronics at the University of Barcelona in 2008. Two years later he joined IREC (Catalonia Institute for Energy Research), where he established the Functional Nanomaterials Group. He has been an ICREA Research Professor since 2013.
