Achille Mbembe

Professor of History and Politics and researcher at the Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research (WISER) of the Witwatersrand University of Johannesburg.

He has taught History at the universities of Columbia (New York) and Pennsylvania. He directed the Council for the Development of Research in Social Sciences in Africa (CODESRIA), with headquarters in Dakar.
