Predrag Matvejevi?

Richard III in the Wars in Yugoslavia

The Croatian writer Predrag Matvejevi? presents a gallery of the more sinister figures of the wars in ex-Yugoslavia like Slobodan Milosevic, the Croatian dictator Franjo Trudjman or Radovan Karadzic, warlord of the Serbo-Bosnians.

His intervention is structured in acts, as in a tragedy, with specific references to Shakespeare's Richard III. Matvejevi? introduces us to these figures in terms of their family histories, riddled with suicides, figures who were at the same time responsible for casting entire peoples into the abyss of genocide.
