J. G. Ballard: Shangai Jim [Premiere]

This BBC production first aired in 1991 and chronicles Ballard's first trip to his native Shanghai after having left in 1946. Ballard relives the scenes of his life inspired by his autobiographical novels. The documentary combines the commentaries made by the author in the original settings, fragments of his works, archive material with historical scenes, recreations from his childhood and Ballard's encounter with his past.
