Guided tour for Francesc Tosquelles exhibition

The purpose of the guided tour is to establish a conversation to connect the people attending the visit with the reflection of the artistic pieces and objects present in the room and thus generate a meaningful and enjoyable experience.

The exhibition proposes a journey through the avant-garde practices of the psychiatrist Francesc Tosquelles, who is passionate about his work, politics and culture. He innovated in therapies for people with mental health problems and denounced that European fascism was not considered a disease. Today he is a leading psychiatrist in the treatment of mental health in times of extreme crisis.

The exhibition includes essays on psychiatry, works of art made inside and outside psychiatric centers, oral testimonies, and photography and film documents.

We invite you to discover the fascinating personality of Francesc Tosquelles and his transformative practice through ten key concepts.

Joana Masó, literary critic and co-curator of the exhibition, explains who was Tosquelles.
