Ralph Baecker

Studied Computer Science at the University of Cologne and Multimedia Art at the city’s Multimedia Art Academy, and has taught at the Bauhaus University in Weimar and the University of the Arts in Bremen, among others. He is currently a member of the Graduate School of the University of the Arts in Berlin. Ralph Baecker situates his work at the intersection of art, technology and science.

His work has been shown at exhibitions and festivals such as “Wolfgang von Kempelen. Mensch-[in der]-Maschine” (ZKM, Zentrum für Kunst und Medien, Karlsruhe, 2007), “Electrohype 2008” (Konsthall, Malmö, 2008); “Space Inventions. Der künstliche Raum” (Künstlerhaus, Vienna, 2010); “WeltWissen. 300 Jahre Wissenschaften in Berlin” (Martin-Gropius-Bau, Berlin, 2010); “When Process becomes Paradigm” (Laboral Centro de Arte, Gijón, 2010); “Life: Science Version” (WINZAVOD, Centre for the Contemporary Arts, Moscow, 2011), and the International Multimedia Arts Triennial (Beijing, 2014).
