Núria Conde

Expert in bioinformatics and co-director of the Complex Systems research group at Universitat Pompeu Fabra

Núria Conde holds a PhD in biology and is an expert in bioinformatics. She specialises in the study of the complexity of the interactions of living systems. She currently works as a researcher for the Complex Systems Laboratory at the Barcelona Biomedical Research Park and teaches biology to architects and designers at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) and the Fab Lab research centre on cities. She is also the director of SokoTech’s DIYBioBcn laboratory, where she collaborates on biohacking projects. As a result of her involvement in these projects, in 2015 she took part in the CCCB exhibition "Human+: The Future of Our Species" and in an artistic and scientific residency at Hangar. Since 2020, she has been coordinating research on the ecosystem of microorganisms in Barcelona with the aim of designing strategies to improve the health of the city’s residents.
