Marga Almirall

Film director and editor

Marga Almirall has a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the UAB, a postgraduate degree in Audiovisual Editing from the UPF, has also studied at the Feminist Laboratory of Documentary Creation of La Bonne (2019-20) and taken courses on film theory and criticism. Since 2016 she has been jointly responsible for content at the cooperative that promotes audiovisual media, Drac Màgic, where she coordinates the educational training project in audiovisual languages, Construir Mirades. She also collaborates with the children's film distribution company, Pack Màgic, and the Barcelona International Women's Film Festival. As a filmmaker, she works with found footage and has made the video essay Estimada (vida) diària (2016) [Dear (life) diary] and the shorts Elena Universo (2018) [Elena Universe] and El que encara balla en mi (2021) [What still dances in me]. Together with Marta Nieto, she's created essays for Soy Cámara: La carcajada de la medusa (2018) [The Guffaw of Medusa] and De un cuerpo a esta parte (2019) [From a Body to this Part].
