Manolo Martínez (Astrud)

Manolo Martínez is the writing half of the pop duo Astrud that he forms with Genís Segarra. Astrud started out in 1997 in Barcelona and, despite a short recording history (four LPs, including the acclaimed Mi fracaso personal, in 1999, and Performance, in 2004), are considered one of the most vital bands in Spanish pop of recent decades. The irony, depth, concision and capacity for observation exuded by their vignettes of the human condition are still unsurpassed.
