Francis Pisani
From 1979 to 1995 he covered events in Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean as correspondent for several European publications. He wrote the book Muchachos (Boys) on the Sandinista insurrection, Sandinistas (with Jesús Ceberio and Gabriele Invernizzi) and has co-edited Redes internacionales en la Cuenca de los Huracanes (International Networks in the Eye of Hurricanes).
He has a doctorate in Latin American Studies and Political Science from the Sorbonne and teaches in the Fundación para un Nuevo Periodismo Iberoamericano (Foundation for a New Latin American Journalism), which was created by Gabriel García Márquez in Cartagena (Colombia), besides lecturing at the Instituto de Empresas (Business Institute) of Madrid, the Institut d'Études Politiques (Paris) and the Université de Saint Gall (Switzerland). He has given lectures and taught courses in more than twenty universities around the world.
