Daniela Ortiz

Her recent projects and research are focused on the European migration control system, and the links between colonialism and legal mechanisms created by European institutions as a means of wreaking violence on migrant and racialised populations. She has also been engaged with several projects on the Peruvian upper class and their exploitative relationship with domestic workers. Her artistic work has recently gone back to an earlier focus on visual and manual creation with ceramic works, collage, drawing, and formats like children’s books that aim to move away from Eurocentric conceptual aesthetics.
