Philologist and historian Cristian Tolsa looks at the importance of Mars in ancient civilisations. Nergal in Mesopotamia, Horemakhet in Egypt, Ares in ancient Greece and Mars in Rome, the divinities associated with the red planet follow a similar line yet also differ in certain aspects and qualities.
