Urban Explorations / Course 2024-2025
Lived cities and critical cartographies
Exploracions Urbanes is a research and creation project around the city with young people in the 4th year of ESO from two high schools in Barcelona. The process culminates with the realization of an unconventional cartography on the adolescent experience and imagination that discovers the city from another point of view.
For three months, pupils record and explore their relationship with the district with the aim of creating a map of their own that will take the form of a song. It will be a journey around their day-to-day lives, their memories, spaces that represent them and others that have become boundaries for them.
This process of self-knowledge, awareness of their surroundings and connection with the place will culminate with the reception of young people from the other school to show how they experience and feel the city, as hosts of their neighbourhood for a day. They will do this by means of a tour of their urban experience and the presentation of the songs created.
This fourth outing of the joint project of the CCCB and Androna Cultura involves the collaboration of Versembrant and the participation of pupils of INS Miquel Tarradell and IE Trinitat Nova, bringing together young people from the Raval and Trinitat Nova districts. The project forms part of the District Plan programme.
