"From territorial analysis to city government"

The process of urbanisation, its origins, forms, potentialities and the contradictions and problems deriving from it: this is the central concern of Francesco Indovina’s work. His studies have given rise to different analytical concepts and proposals, for example the widely-used notions of “diffuse city” and “metropolitan archipelago”, which have made Indovina one of the most influential Italian writers in the fields of urban planning and territorial analysis. However, his concerns are not limited to studying these questions. He also seeks to provide keys to governing territory in a more efficient, sustainable and socially equitable manner.
The book Francesco Indovina: Del análisis del territorio al gobierno de la ciudad consists of a critical essay on the author and his work together with a selection of essential texts and one hitherto unpublished article.
Participants: Francesco Indovina, Oriol Nel·lo, Antonio Font, Núria Benach, Abel Albet
