Biennial of Thought 2024
Song, sea, and destiny
Concert by Tarta Relena
Scene + Music
Free
The vocal duo Tarta Relena recovers the Mediterranean musical heritage and infuses it with electronics with this concert in which they present three songs from their new album, És pregunta.
Tarta Relena will play for the first time three songs from their new album És pregunta along with their repertory of traditional and singer-songwriter music to create a link with the Mediterranean through experimentation as an emblem. This very special concert also draws connections with the project Sirenes i robots (Sirens and Robots), a sound installation in which sea mythology is presented to the backdrop of sirens’ songs. It can be visited during the Biennial of Thought at CCCB’s Sala Raval.
Fearless of pushing the boundaries of that which is sacred and profane, the music of duo Tarta Relena travels into the shared past of the Mediterranean while rewriting and looking towards the future. The arrangements blend with the melodic timbre of their two voices, the synthetic sound of instruments, and electronic samples, always seeking complexity in simplicity and a maximum expression with minimal elements.
