Rember Yahuarcani
Art and indigenous subjectivities
Debate
Free with pre-booking
Witoto artist Rember Yahuarcani and researcher Diego Falconí (UAB) talk about how to understand indigenous art and subjectivity beyond Western paradigms.
This session proposes two lines of discussion. First, it will look at indigenous cultural production, other forms of subjectivation and authorship, and the representation of resistant ancestral ways of feeling and thinking, especially in the Amazonian context of the Andean area. Then it will reflect on the reception of indigenous art in Europe, proposals for inclusion and repair in certain museum spaces, and whether it is possible to maintain an ethical, intercultural, long-term dialogue between Europe and different original communities.
Participants: Rember Yahuarcani López, Diego Falconí
