Xavier Monteys

Professor of Architectural Projects at ETSAB (Barcelona School of Architecture), where he coordinates the master’s degree course “Theory and Practice of the Project of Architecture”, Xavier Monteys is director of the “Habitar” research group. He also coordinates a course on Projects at the University of Girona and has taught in the master’s degree on Urban Renovation at the University of Santiago de Compostela. He writes in the “Domèstica” section of the review Quaderns d’arquitectura i urbanisme and is a regular contributor as an architecture critic in the “Quadern” pages of the “Catalonia” supplement of the daily El País. He is presently working on the project “ReHabitar” and also on the conversion of the old Canòdrom Meridiana (Meridiana Dog Racing Track) in Barcelona. Among his publications are, Le Corbusier: obras y proyectos (Le Corbusier: Works and Projects – Gustavo Gili, 2005), Casa Collage. Un ensayo sobre la arquitectura de la casa (Collage Home: An Essay on House Architecture – Gustavo Gili, 2001), El plaer de la Ciutat (UDG 2011) and La Habitación, más allá de la sala de estar (Gustavo Gili, 2014).
