Susana de la Luna

ICREA lecturer in Research at the Centre for Genomic Regulation, Barcelona.

Dr de la Luna obtained a PhD in Molecular Biology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona with a project on replication of the influenza virus, which was carried out at the Severo Ochoa Centre for Molecular Biology. In 1994 she joined the National Institute for Medical Research in London (UK) as a postdoctoral research fellow and worked on aspects of cell proliferation. In 1999 she joined the Chromosome 21 research group at the Institute of Molecular and Medical Genetics of Barcelona (IRO), where she began her work of identifying chromosome 21 genes. Since 2002 she has been team leader at the Centre for Genomic Regulation, Barcelona, where her research has been focused on the functional activity of some genes that are potentially involved in the physiopathology of Down’s syndrome.
