Born in Toronto in 1976, Sheila Heti is a rising star of new international fiction. Often assigned to trends such as Alt-Lit (Alternative Literature), she has published collections of essays such as The Chairs are Where People Go (Faber, 2011) with Misha Glouberman, and developed artistic projects such as the Metaphysical Poll, a blog where people write the dreams they had about Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton during the 2008 primary elections. Her acclaimed novel How Should A Person Be? (2013) brought her to the attention of Spanish and Catalan readers. Some already knew her for her journalism in The New York Times or The Guardian, but she is now also interviews editor of the prestigious magazine The Believer.
