Érik Bullot

Filmmaker

Érik Bullot is a filmmaker and theorist. He studied at the National School of Photography in Arles and the Institute for Advanced Film Studies (IDHEC) in Paris. His work has been featured in numerous festivals and museums, as notably the Jeu de Paume (Paris), La Enana Marrón (Madrid), the Biennial of the Moving Image (Geneva), the CCCB (Barcelona), the New Museum (New York), the Museum of Modern Art (Buenos Aires), the Cineteca nacional de Chile. 

He has published several books on film: Sayat Nova (Yellow Now, 2007), Renversements 1 and 2. Notes sur le cinéma (Paris Expérimental, 2009 y 2013), Sortir du cinéma (Mamco, 2013), Le Film et son double (Mamco, 2017) and, in Spanish, El cine es una invención post-mortem (Shangrila, 2015) and Fotogenias y paradojas (UNTREF, 2018). He is a regular contributor to the magazine Trafic.

He was visiting professor at the University of New York at Buffalo (2009-2011) and at the CIA (Centro de Investigaciones Artísticas) in Buenos Aires in 2013. He teaches film at the National Art School in Bourges (France).
