Paul Karasik 2006

Cartoonist and teacher, he trained at the School of Visual Arts together with three of the most prominent comic artists: Will Eisner, Harvey Kurtzman and Art Spiegelman.

Prominent among his works is the graphic adaptation, together with David Mazzucchelli, of Paul Auster's novel City of Glass (1994), which managed a place in the list of the hundred best comics of the 20th century produced by the publication Comics Journal. He has worked as associate editor on Art Spiegelman's raw Magazine and as an illustrator for The New York Times, The New Yorker and Nickelodean Magazine. He has taught at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Scuola Internazionale di Comics in Florence.

Recently he published, in collaboration with his sister, The Ride Together, a Memoir of Autism in the Family (2003), which talks of their experiences living with their brother David, who is autistic.
