Doctor in philosophy and education science from the University of Barcelona and Masters in Business document management systems from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Within his academic training, he has held posts as researcher and assistant lecturer in the Department of Logic, History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Barcelona, he has carried out post-graduate studies at the Istituto di Discipline della Comunicazione de la Università di Bologna (Italy) and has been a Visiting Scholar at CSLI (Center for the Study of Language and Information) at Stanford University (California, US). He has also worked as lecturer at the Department of Logic and Philosophy of Science at Madrid’s Complutense University, professor of information and communication sciences at the Catalonia Open University, lecturer on the degree course in documentation at the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Barcelona Autonomous University and a member of the OCC Special Research Centre (Observatory of Scientific Communication) which forms part of the journalism and audiovisual communication faculties at Pompeu Fabra University. His scientific career focuses on some of the many issues (conceptual, semantic, epistemological and pragmatic) relating to the subject of information theory and knowledge management. He is currently assistant lecturer (Serra Húnter Programme) in the Faculty of Library Science and Documentation at the University of Barcelona.
