Luis Martínez
political scientist and researcher at the Centre d’Études et de Recherches Internationales in Paris and Rabat.
A political scientist and researcher at the Centre for Research and Study of Africa and the Mediterranean in Rabat, he is also research director at the Centre d’Études et de Recherches Internationales de SciencesPo in Paris, and at the École de Gouvernance et d’Économie in Rabat. He has been guest professor at the universities of Columbia and Montreal and is an expert on the Maghreb and The Middle East. His research focuses on the relationship between Islamism, political violence, policies of security in the Mediterranean, and oil revenue and democracy. His most recent publications are The Libyan Paradox (Hurst, 2007) and Violence de la rente pétrolière. Algérie - Irak – Libye (Les Presses de SciencesPo, 2010).
