(Bogota, 1973) He has published the book of short stories Los amantes de Todos los Santos (2008) and the essay collection El arte de la distorsión (2009). He has also written two novels, Los informantes (2003), a finalist for the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize in England; and Historia secreta de Costaguana (Alfaguara, 2007), awarded the Qwerty Prize for the Best Novel in Spanish in Barcelona. In 2007, he received the Essay Award of the Simon Bolivar Prize for Journalism. He has also written a brief biography of Joseph Conrad, El hombre de ninguna parte (2007). His books have been published in fourteen languages and twenty countries.
