José Luis de Vicente

(Granada, Spain, 1973)

Curator, writer and researcher specialising in the analysis of the cultural spaces that exist between technology, social innovation, art and design.

He is currently working on various research programmes, among them “Visualizar” (Medialab Prado, Madrid). He is the curator of Sónar+D, the innovation area of the Sónar festival (Barcelona), and he is a member of the curatorial team of the FutureEverything Festival (Manchester). He is a founding member of Zzzinc, a consultancy specialising in innovation for cultural bodies.

He has curated numerous symposia and exhibitions on art and technology, science and design, among them: “Machines and Souls” (2008, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia), “Arcadia and Habitar” (2009 and 2010, Laboral Centro de Arte), “Invisible Fields” (2011, Arts Santa Mònica), “Playtime: Game Mythologies” (2012, Maison d’Ailleurs), and “Big Bang Data” (2014-2017; CCCB, Barcelona; Fundación Telefónica, Madrid; Fundación Telefónica, Buenos Aires; Somerset House, London; Espacio Fundación Telefónica, Santiago de Chile and Lima; Artscience Museum, Singapore; Centro de Cultura Digital, Mexico City, DOX-Centre for Contemporary Art, Prague).
